چکیده
The fast volume coverage of retrospective ECG-gated multidetector-row helical CT(MDCT)arrows for acquisition of the entire heart volume with nearly isotropic spatial resolution(0.5×0.5×0.6 mm)within a single breath-hold. The sub-millimeter spatial resolution enables depiction of the major and also of peripheral coronary artery segments with lumen diameter down to 1 mm. The results of studies of stenosis detection have shown that coronary CT angiography can reliably detect and exclude high-grade stenosis>50%. In addition, preliminary data indicate that MDCT angiography might arrow detection and evaluation of atherosclerotic plaques in different stages. The differentiation of lipid-rich, fibrous and calcified plaques using coronary CT angiography correlates well with the intracoronary ultrasound results based on measurement of the mean HU-value in the lesion. [Non-invasive coronary angiography with 16 multidetector-row spiral computed tomography: a comparative study with invasive coronary angiography].
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES Non-invasive coronary artery angiography by 16 multidetector-row spiral computed tomography is a novel diagnostic tool whose reliability is still unclear. The aim of our study was to compare this technique with invasive coronary angiography. PATIENTS AND METHOD A total of 31 selected patients were examined with both angiographic methods. Non-invasive studies were p...

AIMS Multidetector computed tomography coronary angiography (CTA) has emerged as a feasible imaging modality for non-invasive assessment of coronary artery disease (CAD). Recently, 320-row CTA systems were introduced, with 16 cm anatomical coverage, allowing image acquisition of the entire heart within a single heart beat. The aim of the present study was to assess the diagnostic accuracy of 32...

AIMS A new generation of multidetector-row CT (MDCT) scanners allows complete coronary coverage using retrospective ECG gating and 1mm slices. The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential of high resolution MDCT angiography with retrospective gating for detection of coronary artery stenoses. METHODS AND RESULTS A total of 102 patients underwent both conventional and MDCT coronar...
